Our department Planning is looking for a Material Planner who will take responsibility for managing all material activities linked to his/her specific portfolio from an end-to-end perspective internally and externally. In this position the Planner secures material availability based on optimized lead times, appropriate safety stock setup (MOQ and rounding value) and minimized write off (manage closely phase in/outs).
As a planner you're show excellency in stakeholder management (internally and externally) and have a strong focus on continuous improvement in your area and supply chain.
What will you do?
- Work with a cross functional team in a dynamic business environment (at multiple levels within the organization) to secure materials and ensure material availability for operations on time.
- In case of issues, coordinate the problem till it is solved with either internal or external stakeholders.
- Define and document the planning processes and ensures the implementation of stated guidelines, standards, and methods and can develop SOPs and WIs themselves.
- Be pro-active when looking for improvements to simplify and standardize the process.
- Sets and accomplishes priorities, goals and objectives focusing on continuous improvement, and seeks ideas and alternatives that create value. For example: work with warehouse manager on conducting Kanban, Just-In-Time (JIT) strategy for improvement opportunities.
- Partners with Procurement team regarding contract fulfillment, monthly forecast review and supplier performance review in terms of reliability (On-Time-In-Full) and quality incidents.
- Periodic review to maintain SAP master data regarding planned delivery lead times, safety stock, MOQs, rounding values, etc
- Support the phase in/out process to prevent production downtime and avoid write offs and support cost reduction initiatives.
- The planners are expected to run monthly MRPs and placing orders to ensure material replenishment plan aligned with targeted stock level.
- Delivers input regarding monthly material provision.
- Can create scenarios in case of challenges and provides the advantages and disadvantages per scenario.
- Can lead an investigation in case of a root cause problem solving.
Requirement for the job: - 80% of the time working from the Mead Johnson office.
Who are you?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, logistics, supplychain or equivalent experience in a related field.
- At least 2 years of working experience in managing complex supply chain planning processes, preferable in the pharmaceutical or (nutritional) food industry.
- Good communication skills, verbally and written, in English and Dutch.
- Demonstrated ability in working with SAP (S4 HANA).
- Is organized in his/her way of working.
- Is working precise, accurate and has an eye for small details.
- Effectively collaborate and communicate with a diverse audience, at multiple levels within the organization.
- Understanding of material management processes, including their relation with finance and operations.
- Is passioned about doing things once and first time right.
- Develops self and others by sharing knowledge, actively gather knowledge and works together to achieve results.
- Is able to gather information in a systematic manner, has a helicopter view about all open activities and reports this in a clear way.
- Has an open mind for improvements.
- Is able to work independently within agreed boundaries and is able to set priorities.
