Supplier Quality Specialist
As Supplier Quality Specialist your main responsibility is to further improve and assure quality. In this broad pivotal role, you have contacts with External Parties and a helicopter view over and through the various processes. You contribute to the attainment of QA objectives by developing and maintaining external suppliers’ portfolios, ensuring compliance towards Good Manufacturing practices, external certifications, regulations, and internal requirements.
What will you do?
You will act as the Quality Representative for the Raw materials portfolio produced by Third Party Manufactures and Warehouses.
Develop, maintain, and optimize specifications (QTA/MASTR) and sampling plans (SPS) for raw materials, premixes, and reformulations.
Validate quality parameters, ensuring all materials comply with legal, safety, and hygiene standards.
Monitor critical quality processes, analyze trends, and initiate RCA/CAPA when deviations occur.
Serve as the Quality Representative for raw materials and base powders supplied by third‑party manufacturers and warehouses.
Conduct supplier audits, material qualifications, and annual material reviews.
Evaluate new and innovative materials, assessing feasibility and technical risks.
Maintain and update technical documentation such as PPS, PMS, NPIS, and pre‑PM inspection documents.
Ensure accurate system setup across SAP, GLIMS, GWINS, MASTR, and related databases.
Prepare technical reports following trials, machinability tests, and transportation evaluations.
Provide expert technical support to Production, Engineering, Procurement, Operational QA, FS&PH, R&D, and Planning & Logistics.
Align internal specifications with external stakeholders (suppliers, TPMs, co‑packers).
Act as the go‑to specialist for regulatory input related to new or reformulated products.
Validate and assure the production processes of third‑party manufacturers.
Assess and evaluate technical documents from external partners to ensure compliance with internal and legal requirements.
Secondary responsibilities
Drive supplier performance through KPI monitoring and follow‑up.
Support quality initiatives, HACCP documentation, and training activities.
Participate in cross-functional task forces and support departmental goals and reporting.
Prepare all required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Support audits, new packaging formats, product transfers, and quality-related investigations.
Who are you?
You have at least 5 years of experience within Quality or closely related functions in the nutrition industry or pharmacy.
Academic (Bachelor or Master) in (Chemical) Engineering, Food Quality Management, Food Science and Technology or a comparable science field.
Good communication skills, verbally and written, in English.
Strong understanding of the global/regional business environment, customers and competition, organization structure and effective working styles.
In-depth understanding of processing, packaging, distribution processes/systems and the impact of future changes within them.
Hands on, targeted and able to view things from a different perspective and approach.
Ambitious, always at an excellent level to perform.
Motivator, able to inspire people and motivate them to constantly improve.
Stress resistant & ability to demonstrate management Capacities.
