Our R&D department is looking for a R&D Technician

As a R&D Technician you are part of our R&D department in Nijmegen. Your goal is to support the R&D team with conducting in-house physical testing for new raw materials and finished products, stability testing, sensory evaluations, lab experiments, documentation of results and project information and shipment of samples. This position requires frequent contact within R&D internally but also externally (Operations, Warehouse, Export, Quality).

What will you do?

• Conduct in-house advance physical testing for new raw material and finished products from pilot and plant trials
• Prepare physical testing procedures and validate the test method as required
• Execute R&D stability testing program
• Participate and execute sensorial evaluations
• Hands on work to support trials and first commercial productions
• Follow up analysis results and report to relevant function
• Maintain condition and stock of equipment, glass ware and reagent of R&D Laboratory and keep the laboratory in condition
• Supervise on calibration and maintenance program of instruments used in physical laboratory
• Prepare raw materials and packaging used for pilot and plant trials
• Organize and support shipment of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods
• Support in evaluating and updating nutrient data base of raw materials
• Follow good practices for safety, environment and good manufacturing practice (GMP)

Who are you?

• MBO in Food Technology, Laboratory or Chemical
• Experience in working in laboratory environment or product development
• Experience in aspects of product development within the food industry
• Experience in participating in cross functional teams
• Experience in communicating clear with multiple departments
• Attention to accuracy and detail with good analytical, organizational skills and follow through
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take responsibility with good sense of self-motivation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and verbal.

The position is a permanent one whereas we will offer a one-year contract (intention to change to permanent) with excellent working conditions and a competitive salary of € 3085 - € 5003 (fulltime) per month, depending on knowledge and experience. 24 - 40 hours per week with 25 vacation days (or pro-rato) and an interesting bonus component.
